Living Arrows

I am taking part in Donna from What the Redhead Said‘s Living Arrows – which is a celebration of childhood!

We could all do with a little more celebration in our lives!

To quote Donna, “The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday we share a moment from our week and invite others to do the same as part of this linky.”

Week 12/52 Living Arrows

Decades Apart

I wasn’t actually in attendance for the taking of this picture, but it is so lovely and did happen during the week! Daddy daycare takes place on a Friday and it was his grandad’s 91st birthday on Thursday, so off to visit they went. Mark’s grandad has mesothelioma, but he is as tough as old boots having been a farmer most of his life. His eyesight isn’t what it was but he can see RLT when he is up close. RLT is always pleased to spend time with his daddy, so knowing his daddy is behind the camera, I can account for the beaming smile. But the look on Mark’s grandad’s face looking at RLT in his picture is amazing. We take for granted many things we do every day with our kids, such as giving them a bottle etc but this can actually be the highlight of an elderly person’s week. I must try to make the time to visit my Grandma more with him.
