Living Arrows

I am taking part in Donna from What the Redhead Said‘s Living Arrows – which is a celebration of childhood!

We could all do with a little more celebration in our lives!

To quote Donna, “The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday we share a moment from our week and invite others to do the same as part of this linky.”

Week 8/52 Living Arrows

Swings!

Living in the North East of England and being battered constantly by those North Sea winds, it’s generally very chilly up here in the winter! The lack of shelter in the cold months, in anywhere which isn’t a shopping centre, hasn’t escaped my notice whilst being on maternity leave. Last week, there was a glint of sunshine; so that was it, we were out of the house. This was my opportunity to start to do things with #rlt which were firsts for him, while all of the local big kids were at school. I’m on maternity leave countdown, remember! I go back on 1st March, so time is running out; with this in mind – OFF TO THE PLAY PARK WE WENT.

Look at how happy this little face was to be outside in the Sunshine! We hadn’t even left the driveway yet:

He was as delighted to look at the trees in the Nature Reserve on the way to the park as he was to play on the swings. He loves being outdoors! I thought he may be a little hesitant at first, going on the swings for the first time, but nope, he totally embraced it with the usual RLT chuckle. Great day. Now if the weather could remain the same for us to do the same this week, which is my last full week off, that would be great!

OK, because it was a rush job leaving the house when seeing a burst of sunlight, the poor little mite is still in his PJs. So if this picture reappears when he is 18, he isn’t trying to be an elf in February…..
