Living Arrows Week 49/52

Living Arrows

I am taking part in Donna from What the Redhead Said‘s Living Arrows – which is a celebration of childhood!

We could all do with a little more celebration in our lives!

To quote Donna, “The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran,

“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

and every Monday we share a moment from our week and invite others to do the same as part of this linky.”

Week 49

Still in Cuba

Still having a lovely time – not having accessible Internet isn’t particularly a bad thing! It has been lovely to unwind and forget about everything!

I know the three people who may read this ( Hi Dev, Nic and Donna!) Won’t tell anyone… So this happened last week…

Not my Madonna hands, they happened a while ago! I now have a Beyonce 😁

Week 47

Life Admin

We had a day in the house on Friday as I was so behind on the washing! So it was a PJ day! He’s started to throw his cup around ( the one that is supposed to be non-drip) as you can see from my wallpaper! 🙁 Going to have to get on and get some emulsion glaze!

We did the food shopping on Saturday too, so little man was craving a little adventure by the time it came to Sunday, so off to the park we went. It was cold to say the least! Big back teeth are coming through so little man is attached to his dummy at the moment too, poor little love! We have a 10 hour flight this week, so hope he is OK for that! Tips would be appreciated!

Week 46
So fresh and so clean

I was lucky enough to spend most of the day with RLT and my three year old nephew on Friday. I took them to the gymnastics centre on my own, which I was a bit anxious about – I honestly thought they’d tie me up and hold me hostage as they are tinkers, but turns out that they were little angels who just ran in the opposite direction most of the time!

Saturday we spent the day as a family, taking a great walk to Durham by the riverside – which was a bit tricky with RLT’s new instance on running everywhere – was a bit terrifying so close to a fast flowing river!

On Sunday, we had a day just the two of us, as Dada was at work. So we got up to lots of things, all which included mess. So RLT was sent for an early bath as you can see here…….

As you can see he didn’t seem to mind, I even got a few photographs of him smiling, which is extremely rare these days. Reasons behind the early bath include:

He decided he wanted to feed himself his yoghurt, we are working on spoon control…. he got quite annoyed so he decided to use his hands and when he couldn’t quite get enough in his hands, he decided to go back to his hot dog! This is him pulling his ‘funny face’ which is the face you mostly get when you try to take a picture these days.

We decided to do some potato prints in my sketchbook – I’m pretty impressed with his brush skills already! He’s pretty good at colouring too, however he did get more paint on him than on the paper… so we’ll continue to work on that!

Week 45
They see me rollin’…

So much to his dada’s disgust I bought a little run around from a friend at work! My Grandma gave us his Christmas money early so that we could show her at Christmas what we’d bought him, and my colleague was selling this for the exact amount he got – I thought it was fate!

He is far too small for it, he can’t work out the pedal and we have nowhere to store it. But it brings a smile to his face and he even wanted to eat his lunch in it – I’d say that is a success!

Week 44

Sunshine!

We had an unexpected lovely sunny day on Thursday – an added bonus as I’d taken annual leave as I didn’t have any childcare that day! We went to the park, something I’d never done on my own with RLT since he could run off! I stuck close to him, but let him explore going off the paths and in and around the trees. He absolutely adored it!
