I am taking part in Donna from What the Redhead Said‘s Living Arrows – which is a celebration of childhood!
We could all do with a little more celebration in our lives!
To quote Donna, “The project originally took it’s name from a poem by Kahlil Gibran, “You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” and every Monday we share a moment from our week and invite others to do the same as part of this linky.”

Bantz
Little one saw snapchat this week and now every time he sees my phone he woofs at it like a dog because he wants the snapchat filter on him to be the dog. I’m not a regular user of snapchat, but it’s crazy how he is picking things up so fast now – where did the ‘woof woof’ come from?!
‘We know frogs go la de da de da’, is also very popular in the house this week as he says the final AGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH very loud, which is cute. Shaking his head and gesturing no is also popular… mostly when he heads towards the tv stand to bang on the tv…….
Peekaboo continues to be popular and this week, my other half and RLT took to hiding behind a restaurant menu from me. It’s been a funny old week with the election happening; My partner runs newspaper websites, around 27 of them, so that is a lot of journalists to manage and MPs to report on, so we’ve hardly seen him this week. Then because of the hung parliament, there has been lots of opinion pieces etc… so we were glad to get out of the house for an hour when he finished work on Sunday evening.

Staying in the Light
I haven’t really taken many images this week, what with the catastrophic events happening around the country and working at art show openings, the time I have had off I’ve spent cuddling my little one, wondering how people can hate people who are different. They were all babies once, all innocent and born into what they were born into, whether that be western culture or Islam, we shouldn’t hate people for being different. Any action taken in other countries should now be voted on by the public. The Governments have for too long made decisions such as Iraq War, action in Libya and Syria that innocent people are now paying the price for.
When I returned from work on Saturday, my little one was playing in the study, his dad’s art supplies being his new favourite thing to knock off the shelves. The light beaming through the window was perfect and very poignant of the week gone by – we must stay in the light.
(For usual readers of my living arrows posts, this may seem to be a bit deep for me, as previously mentioned I’ve been working in art shows all week… it sometimes rubs off hehe).

Photo Shoot
In the run-up to RLT’s first birthday, I decided to book him in for a photoshoot to photo document exactly how he was at that time so I would always have lovely photos to remember him at one.
Luckily the amazing children’s photographer Amy Thor lives locally, so I was able to get some amazing shots. It is his Grandma’s birthday soon, too so I could justify the cost that way also!
In 25 minutes Amy had 330 photographs of RLT. She had such a good rapport with him; it was all very natural. I got contact sheets of around 90 images and selected 10 to keep. We were so happy with the final outcomes!

Eleven months
RLT hit the 11 month mark this week! I’ve taken a picture of him on the 17th every month since he was born. He’s decided he is definitely done with this!
Refusssssed to get a pic with the sticker on before I left for work. Kept ripping it off his front and crawling off laughing!
This is how we left it:

But he seemed to have a change of heart after he had his clothes on as he let me do it, he must have seen how much it meant to me!
